About Dreamland

Dreamland Maldives is located on the island of Hirundhoo in the unspoilt beauty of the Baa Atoll, an UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. As well as the usual classic beauty of the typical Maldives resort, Dreamland has a unique freshwater lake with Biotop pool (Asia's first), surrounded by Mangeove trees and palm trees making it truly picturesque.

The Island of Hirundhoo is approximately 177 m (580.7 ft) by 400 m (1,312 ft) and the area is approximately 52,886 sqm (569,260 sq. ft) making it one of the smaller resorts in the baa atoll but a medium size resort across the Maldives.

Getting to Dreamland - The Unique Sea & Lake Resort/Spa

The Baa Atoll is 126 km (78 miles) from the international airport at Malé. You can reach Dreamland via a 30-minute scenic sea plane flight or a 20-minute domestic flight to the nearby island of Dharavandhoo where you can take a 10-15 minute speedboat ride to Dreamland Maldives. All transfers are organised the resort.

Besides eating and drinking there are plenty of things to keep you entertained at Dreamland resort. With a dive centre, a spa and wellness retreat, library, water sports, recreation area, biotop swimming pool and the world famous Hanifaru bay, home of the majestic manta rays, mere minutes away, you will never be stuck for something to fill your days.

Scuba Diving & Excursions

Whether you are a beginner or an expert diver you will get the chance to see the extraordinary beauty of the coral reefs, swimming with the diverse tropical aquatic sea life of the Indian Ocean. There is something for everyone to enjoy at Joy Dive Maldives - Dreamland.

There are half-day trips (1-2 dives), full day excursions (3 dives) and early morning and night dives visiting outstanding dive sites across the Baa Atoll including Harifaru Bay.

The Baa Atoll with its unique diversity of fauna and large Mangroves is a wonderful example of the rich biodiversity found in the Maldives. As such the Baa Atoll was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2011, a significant achievement for the Maldives, honouring the diversity of reef animals, hard and soft corals, reef-associated fish species, marine turtles, manta rays and whale sharks.

The Baa atoll is also home to Harifaru Bay, a Marine protected area with strict regulations to protect and preserve this unique and beautiful place.

Dreamland resort is one of the few resorts with planned excursions to visit the bay, home of manta rays and whale sharks. Not to be missed.

Equipment hire is available for more all and every diver will begin their holiday with an orientation dive.

There is also a range of excursions available, within the Baa Atoll. Excursions include Sunset Dhoni cruises, Sunset Fishing Trip, Adventure snorkelling, Turtle snorkelling, Dolphin Adventure Trip, Robinson Trip where you’re cast away to your own tropical island to explore the land and sea and Kamadhoo Island trip to visit and enjoy the rich traditional Maldivian lifestyle in a typical fishman island.

All trips are subject to whether conditions and children cost 50% less. Remember to tip your boat crew!

Water Sports

There are so many options to choose from if you’re a fan of water sports. As well as the obvious scuba diving, snorkelling, and swimming, there are many above water sporting activities to take part in during your stay including motorized as well as non-motorized activities. Windsurfing, Paddleboarding, Wakeboarding, Water skiing, Jet skiing, Canoeing and more. There is something for everyone from the youngest to the most experienced riders.

Snorkelling

As well as the guided snorkelling excursions around the house reef (night or day) or to Hanifaru bay, there is plenty of opportunity to snorkel at your leisure around the house reef.

The house reef is the coral reef around the resort. Here you will find beautiful coral reef and plenty of marine life including tropical fish, rays, friendly reef sharks, star fish and maybe even a turtle or two.

Always make yourself aware of the dangers before getting in the water. It’s always advisable to swim in pairs in the sea, even if you are a strong swimmer and read up about swimming safety in the Maldives. Remember not to touch the coral or swim near the jetties, where there is boat traffic.

Biotop Pool

Dreamland has a unique freshwater lake with Biotop pool (Asias first), surrounded by Mangeove trees and palm trees making it truly picturesque.

Largely shaded with plenty of seating and sin loungers this is the perfect spot for families or couples to exercise, relax or play.

Gym, Sports and Recreation

You won’t be short of recreation activities on dry land either. With an open-air tennis court, volleyball and beach soccer, nature walks and trails and a game centre with ping pong and darts, there’s something for all to enjoy. There are also gym facilities on the island.

Duny Thai Spa

Relax and unwind at the islands’ boutique spa, managed, and operated by Duny Thai Spa. With numerous massages on offer as well as reflexology, pre tanning treatments, after sun treatments, facials, body polish, body wraps, nail care, wax treatments, and aromatherapy baths there is something for everyone.

Library and Shop

There is an in-house travel library to borrow from during your stay with a hundred titles to choose from including biographies, actions, romance, thrillers and travel.

There is also a small boutique selling every day essentials such as toothbrushes, sun cream and beauty products as well as clothing, jewellery, toys, postcards and souvenirs, including hand-crafted items and snacks.
