How to get to Milaidhoo Maldives

Reaching Milaidhoo from Malé airport provides two possible travel choices. The first option involves a scenic seaplane journey, offering picturesque views throughout the trip. Alternatively, the second option includes a domestic transfer to a nearby airport, followed by a swift speedboat ride. Typically, both routes take around 35 minutes to complete. Our general recommendation leans towards the seaplane option for an enhanced travel experience.

Notably, direct boat transfers to Milaidhoo are not available due to the considerable distance from Malé (128km or 80 miles).

Milaidhoo Maldives is situated north-west of Malé, on the north-eastern tip of the Baa Atoll.

Once you land in the Maldives at Malé airport (Velana International) and clear security into the arrivals hall, a resort guide will be ready to meet you. They'll help direct you to exactly where you need to go for your onward transfer to Milaidhoo and can assist with your luggage.

Your onwards journey will depend whether you choose seaplane or domestic transfer:

Option 1 - Seaplane to Milaidhoo Maldives

Your resort guide will assist you and your belongings into a transport vehicle for a short drive to the seaplane terminal. At the terminal, you can check in and await your seaplane flight. During this time, take pleasure in close-up views of the seaplanes and relax and enjoy the complimentary private lounge.

Milaidhoo uses Manta Air seaplanes for transfers to the resort. These represent some of the latest seaplanes in the Maldives, adhering to a predetermined schedule to minimize your waiting time.

While on the sea plane, you can expect a flight duration of approximately 35 minutes. However, if there are stops to drop off guests at other Baa atoll resorts, the transfers may take a bit longer.

Seaplanes land on the water just off the island. Upon your arrival, you will disembark on the arrivals jetty and have the convenience of walking to the island. The resort staff will be readily available to assist guests and handle luggage.

Option 2 - Domestic Transfer to Milaidhoo

The closest airport to Milaidhoo Maldives is located on the island of Dharavandhoo. The recommended domestic carrier is Manta Air, offering regular flights to Dharavandhoo utilizing air-conditioned ATR72-600 turboprop aircraft. These aircraft are renowned for their low greenhouse gas emissions and unparalleled fuel efficiency.

The flight is a brief, non-stop journey that takes approximately 20 minutes. Upon reaching the local airport island, guests will then embark on a 15 minute speedboat ride to reach their ultimate destination - Milaidhoo.
