Updated: 2024-01-24T14:26:30.327Z

To reach Kudafushi Resort & Spa from Malé airport, there are two transfer alternatives. The first choice is a scenic 45-minute seaplane flight, while the second entails a 35-minute domestic transfer to a nearby airport, followed by a 25-minute speedboat ride.

Typically, we recommend the seaplane option as the preferred choice.

It's crucial to highlight that there are no boat-only transfers to Kudafushi Resort due to the considerable distance from Malé (160km or 100 miles).

Your Arrival at Malé Airport (MLE)

Upon arrival at Malé airport (Velana International) in the Maldives, after finishing security procedures and exiting into the arrivals hall, a resort guide will warmly welcome you. They will offer guidance to the designated location for your onward transfer to Kudafushi and can also assist with your luggage.

Is a seaplane or domestic transfer better?

Usually, we suggest selecting a seaplane transfer for Kudafushi Resort & Spa.

Seaplanes are well-known in the Maldives for providing stunning views owing to their low flying altitude. The experience is truly exceptional and is recommended to be tried at least once.

Nevertheless, there are particular advantages to choosing a domestic transfer that might better suit your preferences. Contemplate a domestic transfer if any of the following conditions apply to your situation:

  • International flights arriving in the Maldives after 3pm Malé time (seaplanes only fly during daylight).
  • You don't want to go on a seaplane, or you have limited mobility which would make it difficult.
  • A cheaper transfer option is preferred or you have a significant amount of luggage
