How to get to Finolhu Maldives

To reach Finolhu Maldives, you have two travel options starting from Malé airport. The first involves a delightful 30-minute seaplane journey, offering scenic views along the way. The second option includes a 20-minute domestic transfer to a nearby airport, followed by a half hour speedboat ride. The resort prefer guests to opt for the seaplane experience for a more enjoyable and picturesque trip. It's worth noting that direct boat transfers to Finolhu are not available due to the considerable distance from Malé (112km or 70 miles).

Finolhu is situated at the southern tip of the Baa Atoll, north-west of Malé, the capital of the Maldives.

Your Arrival at Malé Airport (MLE)

After touching down at Malé airport (Velana International) in the Maldives and going through security into the arrivals hall, a resort guide will be there to greet you. They'll guide you to the designated area for your onward transfer to Finolhu Maldives and can provide assistance with your luggage.

Your onwards journey will depend whether you choose seaplane or domestic transfer:

Option 1 - Seaplane to Finolhu Maldives

Upon arrival, your resort guide will help you and your belongings into a vehicle for a quick transfer to the seaplane terminal. At the terminal, you can check in and wait for your seaplane flight. Meanwhile, enjoy close-up views of the seaplanes or access the complimentary seaplane lounge.

Finolhu Maldives uses Trans Maldivian Airways seaplanes for transporting guests to the resort. With the most extensive seaplane fleet in the Maldives, Trans Maldivian Airways has built a trustworthy track record.

You can expect the seaplane journey to take around 30 minutes, but if there are stops to deliver guests to other Baa atoll resorts, the transfers may extend a little.

Seaplanes touch down on the water just off island, providing a scenic arrival. Upon arrival, you'll disembark onto a jetty and be able to walk to the island while resort staff will be available to assist you with your luggage.

Option 2 - Domestic Transfer to Finolhu Maldives

The nearest airport to Finolhu is the island of Dharavandhoo. If necessary the resorts preferred domestic carrier is Manta Air which have regular flights to Dharavandhoo aboard air-conditioned ATR72-600 turboprop aircraft, known for the lowest greenhouse gas emissions and unrivalled fuel efficiency. This is a short, straight flight with no stops along the way which takes around 20-minutes. From the local airport island you'll board a speedboat for a 30-minute ride to your final destination - Finolhu.

However, the preferred way to travel is by seaplane and as such the resort offer the same price for transfers.
