How to get to Reethi Faru Resort

To access Reethi Faru Resort from Malé airport, you can choose between two transportation options. The first is a scenic 45-minute seaplane flight, while the second involves a 20-minute domestic transfer to a nearby airport, followed by a 45-minute speedboat ride.

Usually, we recommend the seaplane option as the preferred choice.

It's important to note that there are no boat-only transfers to Reethi Faru Resort due to the considerable distance from Malé.

Reethi Faru Location

Reethi Faru is situated in the stunning Raa Atoll, approximately 160km (or 100mile) north-west of Malé.

Your Arrival at Malé Airport (MLE)

Upon arriving at Malé airport (Velana International) in the Maldives, after completing security procedures and exiting into the arrivals hall, a resort guide will warmly welcome you. They will be holding a sign with the resort name – Reethi Faru Resort, for easy identification. The guide will offer directions to the specified location for your onward transfer to Reethi Faru and can also aid with your luggage.

The onward transfer will depend on your choice between a seaplane or a domestic plane:

Option 1 - Seaplane to Reethi Faru Resort

Your resort guide will assist and accompany both you and your belongings to a vehicle heading for the nearby seaplane terminal. Upon reaching the terminal, you can complete the check-in process and await your seaplane flight. In the meantime, you can savour up-close views of the seaplanes, or, for an additional charge, access a lounge with refreshments.

Reethi Faru Resort utilizes Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) seaplanes for transfers to the resort. TMA boasts the world's most extensive seaplane fleet and has established a reliable track record.

Upon boarding the seaplane, the expected duration of the flight is approximately 45 minutes. However, the overall transfer time might be slightly extended if the plane makes stops to drop off guests at other resorts during the journey.

Seaplanes touch down on the water near Reethi Faru. Upon arrival, you'll disembark onto the arrivals jetty and walk to the island. The resort staff will be readily available to assist guests and ensure the seamless handling of luggage.

Option 2 - Domestic Transfer to Reethi Faru Resort

Dharavandhoo Airport in the nearby Baa Atoll is the closest airport to Reeth Faru Resort. The preferred domestic carrier is Flyme (Villa Air), which operates regular flights to Dharavandhoo using air-conditioned ATR-72 turboprop aircraft. These are the same planes utilized by many domestic carriers worldwide and have a proven track record.

This is a short, direct flight with no stops along the way, taking approximately 20 minutes. Upon reaching the local airport island, you will then proceed to board a speedboat for a 40-minute ride to your final destination - Reethi Faru.
