How to get to Rahaa Resort

Rahaa Resort, nestled in the Laamu Atoll, is exclusively accessible via a 45-minute domestic flight transfer from Malé airport (Velana International), followed by a 30-minute speedboat journey.

Please note that there are no boat-only transfers available to Rahaa Resort due to its considerable distance from Malé (266km or 165 miles).

Your Arrival at Malé Airport (MLE)

Upon arrival at Malé airport (Velana International) in the Maldives, after clearing security and entering the arrivals hall, you'll be warmly welcomed by a resort guide holding a wooden signpost displaying the resort's name. They'll be there to assist you in locating the designated area for your domestic transfer to the resort and can offer support with your luggage as needed.

Domestic Transfer to Rahaa Resort

The nearest airport to Rahaa Resort is situated on the island of Kadhdhoo (KDO). The preferred domestic carrier for this route is Maldivian, providing the sole flights to the Laamu Atoll aboard air-conditioned ATR-72 and ATR42 turboprop aircraft as well as Dash 8-200 and Dash 8-300 aircraft known for their robust design, advanced safety features, and reliable performance.

The flight typically spans around 45 minutes, though occasional stops at other domestic airports may be necessary to accommodate additional visitors to the Maldives. Upon arrival at the local airport island, you'll be transferred to the marina before boarding a speedboat for a 30-minute journey to Rahaa Resort Island, your final destination.

These are the current costs for transfers to Rahaa Resort. Prices are per person for a return trip and include all taxes.

Do I have to travel by domestic transfer?

Domestic transfers are the only transfer method Rahaa Resort use at the moment.

However, there are other ways to travel within the Maldives so it is worth speaking to the resort to see if they can offer an alternative mode of transport if that's what you desire.

Trans Maldivian Airways Seaplanes regularly fly to the Laamu Atoll but this may need to be arranged privately. There are also seaplane tour options from Malé but these can come with a hefty price tag.

However, there are some advantages to a domestic transfer:
