How to get JA Manafaru Maldives

To reach JA Manafaru Maldives from Malé airport, you have two transportation choices: a 80-minute picturesque seaplane flight or a 75-minute domestic transfer to a nearby airport followed by a 10-minute speedboat ride.

Typically, we recommend selecting the seaplane option for its scenic views and efficiency.

Please note that there are no boat-only transfers to JA Manafaru Maldives due to the significant distance from Malé (320km or 199 miles).

Alternatively, if arriving by private jet, guests have the option to fly directly to Maafaru International Airport in the northern region of the Maldives, Noonu Atoll. From Maafaru, guests can embark on a 40-minute scenic journey via a chartered seaplane to reach the resort.

JA Manafaru is situated in the northernmost atoll of the Maldives and is an epitome of tropical luxury and tranquillity.

Your Arrival at Malé Airport (MLE)

Upon your arrival at Malé airport (Velana International) in the Maldives and after completing security procedures to enter the arrivals hall, a dedicated resort guide will be waiting to welcome you. Holding a sign with the resort's name, they will assist you in locating the designated area for your onward transfer to JA Manafaru Maldives and can provide assistance with your luggage as required.

The mode of transportation for your onward journey will be based on your preference between a seaplane or a domestic transfer:

Option 1 - Seaplane to JA Manafaru Maldives

Your resort guide will assist you and your belongings into a vehicle for transportation to seaplane terminal, conveniently located just a few minutes' drive away. Once at the terminal, you can check in and await your seaplane flight. While you wait, you can take in close-up views of the seaplanes or enjoy the amenities of the complimentary Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) lounge.

JA Manafaru Maldives relies on TMA seaplanes for transporting guests to the resort. TMA boasts the most extensive seaplane fleet globally, with a well-established reputation for reliability.

Once aboard the seaplane, the flight duration is estimated to be around 80 minutes. However, the transfer might be extended slightly if the plane makes stops to drop off guests at other resorts during the journey.

Seaplanes make a water landing just off the resort island. Upon arrival, guests disembark onto the arrivals jetty and can walk to the island. Resort staff will be available to assist guests and handle luggage throughout the process.

Option 2 - Domestic Transfer to JA Manafaru Maldives

The nearest airport to JA Manafaru Maldives is Hoarafushi Airport (HRF). Maldivian, the country's primary domestic carrier, operates regular flights utilizing air-conditioned ATR-72 and ATR-42 turboprop aircraft, along with Dash 8-200 and Dash 8-300 aircraft, renowned for their durability, advanced safety features, and consistent performance.

The total flight duration is approximately 70 minutes. Upon arrival at the local airport island, guests will transfer to a speedboat for a further 10-minute journey to their ultimate destination - JA Manafaru.

In some instances, you may land at Hanimadhoo International Airport (HAQ), which is South-East of Hoarafushi Airport. In such cases, the flight time will be decreased to 50 minutes and speedboat transfer to the resort will be extended to 45 minutes, while all other arrangements will remain unchanged.
