Do I have to transfer via seaplane?

Seaplanes are such an iconic part of the Maldives and the low flight level gives incredible views. It's a fantastic journey worth experiencing at least once.

However, there are other ways to travel within the Maldives and if you feel seaplanes are not an option for you or your family then it is worth speaking to the resort to see if they can offer an alternative mode of transport.

Alternative transfers might be worth considering if any of the following conditions apply:

  • International flights arriving in the Maldives after 3pm Malé time (seaplanes only fly during daylight).
  • You simply don't want to go on a seaplane.
  • You have limited mobility which would make it difficult.
  • You have a significant amount of luggage
