How to get to Adaaran Select Meedhupparu

To reach Adaaran Select Meedhupparu from Malé airport, there are two transportation options. The first is a picturesque 45-minute seaplane flight, while the second involves a 20-minute domestic transfer to a nearby airport, followed by a 45-minute speedboat ride.

Usually, we recommend the seaplane option as the preferred choice.

It's important to note that there are no boat-only transfers to Adaaran Select Meedhupparu due to the substantial distance from Malé (154km or 96 miles).

Your Arrival at Malé Airport (MLE)

Upon reaching Malé airport (Velana International) in the Maldives, following the completion of security procedures and exiting into the arrivals hall, a resort guide will extend a warm welcome. They will provide assistance in directing you to the designated location for your subsequent transfer to Adaaran Select Meedhupparu and can also aid with your luggage.

The method of onward transfer will be determined by your preference between a seaplane or a domestic plane:

Option 1 - Seaplane to Adaaran Select Meedhupparu

Your resort guide will aid and accompany both you and your belongings to a vehicle bound for the nearby seaplane terminal. Upon reaching the terminal, you can finalize the check-in process and await your seaplane flight. This period offers a chance to enjoy up-close views of the seaplanes or unwind in the comfort of the complimentary Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) lounge with light snacks, tea, coffee and refreshing juices.

Adaaran Select Meedhupparu relies on TMA seaplanes for transfers to the resort. TMA proudly possesses the world's most extensive seaplane fleet and has built a dependable track record.

Upon boarding the seaplane, the expected duration of the flight is approximately 45 minutes. However, the overall transfer time might be slightly prolonged if the plane makes stops to drop off guests at other resorts along the journey.

Upon arrival, guests will disembark at the arrivals jetty and be able to walk to the island. The resort staff will be readily available to assist guests and ensure the seamless handling of luggage.

On the occasion that the seaplane needs to land away from the island guests will be transported by dhoni (a local ferry boat) for a short journey to reach the shores of Meedhupparu.

Option 2 - Domestic Transfer to Adaaran Select Meedhupparu

The closest airport to Adaaran Select Meedhupparu is Dharavandhoo Airport, situated in the nearby Baa Atoll. Manta Air, known for its commitment to domestic travel, operates regular flights to Dharavandhoo Airport aboard their air-conditioned ATR72-600 turboprop aircraft. These flights are celebrated for their minimal greenhouse gas emissions and exceptional fuel efficiency, maintaining a focus on eco-consciousness while ensuring passenger comfort.

The direct flight typically spans 20 minutes. Upon arrival at the local airport island, guests proceed to embark on a 45-minute speedboat journey to their ultimate destination, Adaaran Select Meedhupparu.
